Yiannis Economou on Monday said the main opposition's motion of censure, which was rejected by parliament late on Sunday night, was a "move without real substance".

Speaking at Monday's press briefing, Economou dismissed the motion as a "firework" set off by SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras "to defend himself against competition within and outside his party."

At the same time, Economou said the decision by JPMorgan & Chase to choose Greece as an investment destination was a vote of confidence in the Greek economy.

On the pandemic, he said that the number of new infections appeared to be stabilising, however, the pressure on the national health system remained. He repeated that those who have not yet made the decision to get vaccinated were placing themselves at incalculable risk, while reaffirming that the government is steadily focused on promoting both first and booster vaccinations.
