Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum, Sofia Voultepsi, has forcefully denied allegations of improper involvement with a member of the Pakistani community.
She condemned the claims as a deliberate smear campaign orchestrated to undermine her and her ministry.
"A malicious campaign of disinformation has been launched against me and Ministry officials," Voulteps saidi, characterizing the accusations as part of a far-right political struggle to manipulate extremist sympathizers.
Ms. Voultepsi clarified that the Ministry maintains open dialogue with various community leaders who represent the needs of legal residents in Greece.
"These discussions address critical issues like legal migration, employment, labor trafficking, and family reunification," she explained, emphasizing that all interactions are conducted transparently, within the bounds of the law, and with the goal of fostering social harmony.
"Our duty is to engage with all communities, understand their concerns, and provide clear guidance within the legal framework," Ms. Voultepsi asserted. She issued a stern warning to those propagating falsehoods for political gain, stating that they will be held accountable for their baseless claims.
Ms. Voultepsi directly addressed accusations from Mr. Bogdanos, who alleged impropriety based on a routine conversation.
"Mr. Bogdanos has misconstrued a typical discussion, drawing unfounded conclusions from a limited understanding. His accusations are a fabrication," she declared.
In closing, Ms. Voultepsi cautioned those who resort to slander and deceit to advance their far-right political agendas. "Ultimately, the truth will prevail," she affirmed.
