Greece will experience a period of unstable weather characterized by localized showers and thunderstorms through Sunday, particularly during the warmer parts of the day, with a slight cooling trend expected by the weekend.
Meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas, former director of the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), noted on social media that the unsettled conditions will be most prevalent during midday and afternoon hours before gradually giving way to cooler temperatures.
According to meteo.gr, Wednesday's forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies, especially over mainland regions. Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated during the afternoon, primarily affecting mountainous areas.
Temperatures across the country are expected to range from 5 to 22 degrees Celsius in western Macedonia, 5 to 26 degrees Celsius in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 5 to 26 degrees Celsius in Thessaly, 5 to 22 degrees Celsius in Epirus, 6 to 26 degrees Celsius in other mainland areas, 9 to 23 degrees Celsius in the Ionian Islands, and 8 to 26 degrees Celsius in the Aegean Islands and Crete.
Winds in the Aegean Sea will blow from the north to northwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, winds will come from the northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort.
In Athens, partly cloudy skies with occasional heavier cloud cover are expected. Winds will be light, reaching up to 2 to 3 Beaufort, and temperatures in the capital will range from 15 to 26 degrees Celsius.
Thessaloniki will similarly experience variable cloud cover with light winds at 2 to 3 Beaufort, and temperatures ranging from 16 to 23 degrees Celsius.
