In response to widespread allegations, the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) has officially denied any incidents of doping involving players of the Greek national football team. Seeking to clarify the situation, the federation said it contacted UEFA, which oversees European football, to quash the allegations.
In a statement, EPO said the federation had “not been informed of any positive doping test results concerning national team players.”
This announcement came amid swirling speculation that a player had tested positive following a recent match against Georgia.
The federation’s contact with UEFA puts to rest any concerns about the integrity of the Greek national team’s players.
