Two foreigners arrested in Athens for possession of explosives and a gun

The Hellenic Police arrested two individuals found in possession of a gun, explosives and detonators in their car.

According to police sources, during a vehicle inspection on Socratous Street in central Athens, officers discovered a gun and a bag containing plastic explosives and detonators.

The suspects, a 39-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from Albania, were taken into custody. A bomb disposal unit was dispatched to the scene and all the evidence will be sent to the Hellenic Police's forensic laboratories for further investigation.
