Two 4.4-magnitude earthquakes strike the Santorini-Amorgos axis within two minutes

Two earthquakes, within two minutes, with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, occurred on Thursday afternoon in the sea area between Santorini and Amorgos.

According to the Geodynamic Institute of the Athens Observatory, at 17:40 the seismological network recorded a weak seismic tremor with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, centred in the sea area 21 km southwest of Arkesini, Amorgos, while two minutes later at 17:42 a tremor of the same magnitude was recorded, centred in the sea area 27 km southwest of Arkesini, Amorgos.
