A new MRB poll reveals a sharp decline for Syriza, placing the once-dominant party in fifth place with only 7.5% of the vote.
It is the second survey in a week to show such a drop, highlighting the challenges Syriza faces as it prepares for an upcoming leadership election.
In stark contrast, the ruling New Democracy party leads comfortably with 21.9%, followed by Pasok at 12.2%. The nationalist Hellenic Solution (8.3%) and communist KKE (7.7%) round out the third and fourth spots.
Meanwhile, the Pasok leadership race is proving to be a close contest.
Incumbent leader Nikos Androulakis holds a narrow lead with 27.3% of likely voters, while Athens Mayor Haris Doukas follows closely with 25.7%. Other contenders include Pavlos Yeroulanos (17.9%) and Anna Diamantopoulou (16.9%). With 23% of respondents still undecided, the outcome remains open, signaling a competitive election ahead.
The poll reflects a shifting political landscape in Greece, with Syriza’s ongoing struggles and Pasok’s leadership contest at the center of attention.
