Syriza President Stefanos Kasselakis has praised the outcome of the French elections, billing them a "historic victory" and a "roadmap" for Greece.
In a statement posted on social media. Mr. Kasselakis stressed that despite significant internal disagreements, French progressive forces united on key issues such as combating inflation, addressing the housing crisis, protecting workers and retirees, and resolving the Palestinian conflict.
He emphasized that this cooperation demonstrated the need for similar unity in Greece to tackle pressing issues like inflation, the housing crisis, the deterioration of the National Health System (E.S.Y.), and failures in the rule of law.
"I am optimistic that we can set aside our differences and agree on solutions to the major problems facing Greeks today," Mr. Kasselakis said.
He praised the French people for standing against the far-right and discredited neoliberal policies.
"The people of France have shown the way. They stood against the monster of the far-right and the failed neoliberalism,"the Syriza leader said.
Mr. Kasselakis argued that the French victory exemplified how progressive forces can represent the average citizen's needs and counteract the far-right's agenda of intolerance and isolationism. He stressed the importance of listening to the people's demands for hope and change.
"Today, the French people are shouting. Hope and change are not utopias but realities. We must listen to them and ensure we do not disappoint them in practice," Mr. Kasselakis said.
