SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance's Central Committee will meet on Saturday to discuss a legal motion filed by Stefanos Kasselakis, candidate anew for the party leadership, after his declaration of wealth statement ("pothen esches") was made public, the Political Secretariat decided on Tuesday.
Kasselakis' statement was included in the file for his candidacy, as required by other candidates also. After its publication, Kasselakis filed a legal motion against both the Central Committee and the Political Secretariat. In a statement on Tuesday, the party said among others that "the deposition of necessary signatures [for candidacy], and a copy of pothen esches constitutes an explicit agreement for its publication on the web page."
The Central Committee meeting has been called in order to decide on a response.
Earlier, Kasselakis had requested the resignation of SYRIZA Secretary Rania Svigou, who he claimed was mainly responsible for not protecting candidates' private data.
