A 30-year-old woman suspected of involvement in a terrorist plot linked to a recent explosion in Athens has been arrested upon her return to Greece.
The woman, who had fled to Switzerland on the day of the explosion, was apprehended by anti-terrorism officers at Athens International Airport upon her arrival from Bern.
Authorities believe the woman played a key role in the case, having received keys to the apartment where the explosion occurred from the landlord's son. Despite surrendering voluntarily, she denies any involvement in the incident.
The woman faces serious charges, including membership in a terrorist organization, manufacturing and possession of explosives, and causing an explosion that could have endangered lives. She is also charged with property damage and illegal weapons possession.
The arrest follows the discovery of weapons, masks, wigs, and blueprints in various apartments, items that police believe are connected to the ongoing investigation. The explosion, which occurred in the Ambelokipi neighborhood of Athens, is suspected to be part of a planned terrorist attack.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and are working to determine the full extent of the woman's alleged involvement in the plot.
