President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Thursday inaugurated a two-day conference organised by the Delphi Economic Forum, the Council for International Relations and the newspaper "To Vima" entitled "Post-dictatorship 1974-2024: 50 years Greek foreign policy".
Referring to the current transitional and unstable era, with disruptive events and "a pace that is often beyond us," Sakellaropoulou underlined that "foreign policy and the management of important issues for the nation require broad consensus at home, without petty political aims, and synergies abroad".
She also stressed that Greece's "national sovereignty, territorial integrity and sovereign rights have never been and never will be subject to negotiation".
Sakellaropoulou noted that "international law was the most suitable method chosen by mature and strong democracies, such as Greece, for the peaceful resolution of differences in their international relations," underlining that "through unity, consensus and cordial cooperation, Greece and Europe today derive their strength and their belief in peace, progress and prosperity".
