During a press conference at the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis hinted at the possibility of seeking a third term as leader of the New Democracy (ND) party, humorously dismissing any talk of retirement.
When asked about his future political plans, Mr. Mitsotakis joked, “Are you trying to retire me?” before adding that it would be “arrogant and self-centered” to discuss 2027 now.
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that the ND party is “a party of power” aiming to win every election, stating, “At this time, there is no alternative government proposal beyond that of New Democracy. I am Prime Minister, I am president of ND, and I do not plan to retire.”
He reiterated his intention to complete his second term, which has a clear timeline of 1,000 days remaining, dismissing any speculation about early elections.
