Greek police have launched a major operation targeting a criminal organization allegedly involved in the illegal distribution of prescription drugs.
The operation, which spans several areas of Attica, has already led to the arrest of six individuals, including a doctor and three pharmacists.
Authorities believe the network orchestrated a sophisticated scheme to exploit the medical prescription system. Among those arrested is an Egyptian national accused of distributing narcotic pills obtained through fraudulent prescriptions.
The investigation, which dates back to 2019, has uncovered evidence suggesting the involvement of additional doctors, pharmacists, and other individuals. Police expect to file further charges as they work to dismantle the network.
