Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated director Yorgos Lanthimos on Monday for winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Drama) for his film 'Poor Things', and a Best Performance by a Female Actor award for protagonist Emma Stone.
Mitsotakis also referred to the film's Golden Lion award at the Venice International Film Festival in 2023, and said the newest award "elevates Yorgos to one of the greatest contemporary directors."
The Golden Globe awards, he said, is a testament to "the bold vision of the director in approaching contemporary and simultaneously timeless themes through expressive ways and in his unique signature."
