Five parties plan to ask parliament's Committee on Institutions and Transparency to convene and the Supreme Court to provide its report its wiretapping investigations, Plefsi Eleftherias leader Zoi Konstantopoulou announced in plenary on Wednesday evening.
SYRIZA-Progessive Alliance and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) have already filed their individual requests, while PASOK-KINAL, Nea Aristera, and Plefsi Eleftherias have also agreed to file theirs too, as Konstantopoulou noted in plenary.
She also noted that said that the convening of the Committee will be discussed in parliament by Friday, while she added that the Supreme Court chief prosecutor should also be summoned to speak. "I am extremely pleased because the democratic reflexes worked in a way that does not allow the government to continue on its path of concealment," she asserted.
In its request on Wednesday night, SYRIZA asked that chief Supreme Court prosecutor Georgia Adilini and deputy prosecutor Achilleas Zisis be summoned to brief the parties on their conclusions and the shelving of the investigation.
