Parliament approves interventions in the organization and operation of the Foreign Ministry

The bill on the organization and operation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was approved by a majority vote of the plenary session of the Parliament.

Closing the debate, Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis said that the bill resolves important issues, some of which were longstanding.He also tabled a number of improvements which he made by incorporating comments made during the debate. The improvements include, among other things, the abolition of the age limit for admission to the Diplomatic Academy. Gerapetritis thanked the parties that voted in favour of increasing the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
