Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni has issued a strong warning of legal action following media reports discussing her separation from Minos Matsas.
In her statement, Ms. Kefalogianni stressed the need to respect her privacy and that of her children, responding to claims about a legal filing that she insists she has never made.
"From the moment news about difficulties in my marriage surfaced, I asked for respect for the privacy of my children and our family life," she stated.
"Unfortunately, today, the media is circulating information about an alleged injunction request, which I have never filed."
Ms. Kefalogianni made it clear that if defamatory statements about her continue to spread—whether anonymously or irresponsibly—she will not hesitate to seek justice through the courts. She emphasized that family matters, when not resolved amicably, should be addressed through legal means and not played out in the media.
"As a mother, I once again call for respect, not exploitation. My children must be protected from the pain and harshness of uncontrolled media exposure," she added.
Her statement comes amid increasing speculation about her personal life, despite her repeated requests for privacy.
Ms. Kefalogianni’s firm stance highlights her commitment to protecting her family from undue public scrutiny.
