Three new opinion polls have shed light on the shifting dynamics within Pasok just two days before the party's internal elections.
The surveys reveal key trends and potential upsets in the race for the party's leadership, while also offering insight into the broader political environment in Greece.
According to the latest poll by Metron Analysis for Mega TV, the ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to solidify its lead, increasing its support to 29.2%, up from 28.3% in June during the European elections.
New Democracy's dominance remains unchallenged, but Pasok has demonstrated significant momentum, with its polling numbers surging to 17.2%, compared to 12.8% in the European elections.
Meanwhile, Syriza has fallen to fifth place, securing only 8.4% of the vote, indicating further difficulties for the party as it approaches its own internal elections.
Within Pasok's internal race, current leader Nikos Androulakis remains the frontrunner, maintaining strong support in voter intention and projected victory across all demographic groups. However, former minister Anna Diamantopoulou has made a notable comeback, climbing to second place among voters who say they are certain or likely to participate in the election.
Pavlos Yeroulanos has also seen a significant rise, tying with Haris Doukas for third place in the same category. Interestingly, Androulakis is projected to win in a second-round matchup against Doukas and Diamantopoulou, but could face a tougher challenge against Yeroulanos, who is seen as capable of defeating any potential opponent in a runoff.
On the Syriza front, the majority of the party’s voters expressed a desire for a new leader to replace Stefanos Kasselakis, signaling potential changes in Syriza’s leadership direction as well.
