As Greece approaches the European elections in June, the political landscape is shaping up with New Democracy maintaining a solid lead and the leftist Syriza party edging ahead of the socialist PASOK party for second place., according to the latest opinion poll.

The poll, conducted for local broadcaster Action 24 TV, showed the ruling party ahead with 33.2 percent of the vote with Syriza trailing behind at 15.1 percent, three points ahead of PASOK.
The nationalist Greek Solution party was recorded at 10.5 percent with the communist KKE seated in fourth place with 8.7percent of the vote. Smaller parties, including Course for Freedom, the New Left and the Democrats tracked 4 percent, 3.8 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively.
Voter intentions saw New Democracy leading with 28.5 percent of the vote, followed by Syria at 13 percent, PASOK at 10.3 percent. The Greek Solution is polling at 9%, KKE at 7.5%, Course for Freedom at 3.4%, Niki at 3.2%, New Left at 2.5%, and the Democrats at 2.4%.
