The 20yo man who had fled to Albania and surrendered to the Greek authorities late Thursday night, accused of the murder of Alkis Kambanos, was transferred to the Thessaloniki courthouse.
He was taken to Thessaloniki after the handover late on Thursday and he is to appear before a public prosecutor and examining magistrate on Friday.
The suspect turned himself in to Albanian police after Greek authorities issued an international warrant for his arrest and agreed to return to Greece in order to testify and stand trial.
The examining magistrate is scheduled to hear the testimony of another four men accused of involvement in the murder, including a 25-year-old identified as the person who stabbed the victim by other suspects.
Three suspects in the same case were remanded in custody after their testimony on Thursday. So far, a total of six suspects have testified and been remanded in custody pending trial.
Meanwhile, the Thessaloniki police are continuing their investigation to identify a 12th individual involved in the incident, who was driving the third car at the scene.
