Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke on the phone with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday, said Greek government sources.
The Greek premier expressed his deep concern about the situation in the Gaza Strip, while he underlined that there should be a uninterrupted supply of humanitarian aid into Gaza. He also reiterated his message from the recent Cairo Peace Summit for the condemnation of the October 7 terrorist attacks.
Mitsotakis underlined once more Greece's stance that Hamas is a terrorist organization and does not represent the Palestinian people. The only legal representative of the Palestinian people is the Palestinian Authority, Mitsotakis pointed out, while noting that Greece has always supported the two-state solution for the Palestinian issue. In this context, only a political solution can guarantee peace between Israelis and Palestinians and stability in the region, he added.
