Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis praised the successes of Greece's Organized Crime Unit during a visit to the General Police Directorate of Attica on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis, Mr. Mitsotakis was briefed on the unit's progress, which he called "rapid" since its establishment.
He highlighted the dismantling of an illegal tobacco network linked to organized crime and a crackdown on illicit fuel trafficking.
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized the need for international cooperation and the use of technology, including artificial intelligence, in combating organized crime.
