Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis urged businesses to strengthen their role in Greece's economic recovery during a speech at the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) General Assembly.
He highlighted Greece's remarkable progress since 2019, including regaining investment-grade status and achieving some of Europe's highest growth rates.
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that the partnership between government and business has been key to this success and called for a renewed "action contract" to ensure the benefits are widely shared. He also encouraged businesses to raise wages and lower prices, particularly where production costs are falling.
Mr. Mitsotakis pointed to a booming tourism industry, a surge in exports, and the creation of 500,000 new jobs as evidence of Greece's economic momentum.
He underscored that political stability is now a crucial factor in attracting investment and promoting further growth. Additionally, he supported the Draghi report's call for Europe to make bold decisions to remain competitive globally.
