Mitsotakis Calls for Stronger EU-U.S. Ties

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis urged closer cooperation between the European Union and the United States to address global challenges during an emergency European Council meeting.

Mitsotakis said strengthening transatlantic ties is in the EU’s interest and called on European leaders to send a clear message of partnership to the new U.S. administration.

He stressed the need for a united and pragmatic European approach focused on shared interests.

He also called for the EU to enhance its global role and defense capabilities, saying the Union's collective strength surpasses that of any individual member.
