Greece today is a factor of stability in a turbulent region, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said after the conclusion of the military parade at Syntagma for Greek Independence Day (March 25, 1821) on Tuesday.

Mitsotakis also called for unity, which will lead to great achievements, and he referred to misinformation, which is dominant today.

When Greeks recall that what seemed impossible at the start of the Greek Revolution was achieved in 9 years, and we now celebrate its 204th anniversary, the premier noted. The lessons include the fact that "Greeks achieved success when they were united and set ambitious goals, and when they all struggled together to achieve them."

At present times, a lot of what was taken for granted in recent decades is under doubt. Progress entails specific conditions, Mitsotakis added, and he named these conditions as economic prosperity leading to social cohesion and stronger Armed Forces (to guarantee national independence), self-awareness, distinguishing truth and priorities in a multitude of information, and building strong alliances "to be able to guarantee that Greece is a factor of stability in a turbulent region."
