The 20yo Albanian man, who is accused in the case of the murder of Alkis and fled to the neighbouring country, has announced his intention to surrender to the authorities.
Greek authorities have issued an international warrant for the arrest of the suspect, who went to Albania after the murder and is the only person wanted in connection with the deadly assault who remains at large.
The lawyer said his client is willing to hand himself in and consent to extradition, adding that there was "excellent cooperation" with Greek police authorities in order to speed up his extradition and his return to Thessaloniki.
Speaking outside the Thessaloniki courthouse, the lawyer said his client is "devastated" by what happened and denies having played a key part in the incident.
The 20-year-old has been identified as one of a gang of football hooligans that carried out an unprovoked attack with knives and other weapons on a group of five young men in Thessaloniki on February 1, in which a 19-year-old youth was stabbed and beaten to death while two others were injured.
