Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday spoke on the phone with Olaf Scholz and congratulated him on the assumption of his duties, expressing Greece's intention to further enhance bilateral relations.
The two leaders exchanged views on the developments in Ukraine, noting the need to preserve the European unity, to have open channels of communication with Russia and of respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity, as an aggressive move would have serious consequences.
Mitsotakis briefed Scholz on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and they also discussed the situation in the Western Balkans. The Greek prime minister underlined that there is a positive momentum for the strengthening of bilateral economic relations and for German investments in Greece.
Mitsotakis and Scholz agreed to meet as soon as possible.
