The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, held two meetings on the issue of Attica's flood protection on Saturday.
"We concluded two very important meetings on potential flooding phenomena in Attica. Together with the Armed Forces, the Greek Police, the Fire Brigade, the Coast Guard, the emergency ambulance service EKAV so that we can be able to notify via the emergency number 112 in time, to remove people from the roads, to ban the traffic in certain aread, and to organize our forces in those parts of Attica that are vulnerable," Kikilias noted.
The minister added that the goal is to be able to smooth out, reduce, prevent the consequences of such a phenomenon in the best possible way. "Cooperation with everyone is important and every effort is made interdisciplinary and jointly with local administration, the Region of Attica but also with the mayors," he added.
