The Athens Journalists' Union (ESHEA) has issued a statement condemning Syriza leader Stefanos Kasselakis for his dismissive attitude towards journalists.
ESHEA highlighted that employees of the newspaper Avgi have not received their holiday bonuses, and all workers at the newspaper, the website avgi.gr, and the radio station 105.5 Sto Kokkino have not been paid their July salaries.
The union expressed frustration withMr. Kasselakis' ongoing refusal to meet with them despite multiple formal invitations, demonstrating a lack of respect for journalists and media workers connected to SYRIZA's outlets.
The board said that while Mr. Kasselakis is currently on vacation, he must urgently address these critical issues.
ESHEA called on the Syriza leader to take responsibility as the leader of the party, the main shareholder of these media entities, and to engage in necessary institutional dialogue to ensure the welfare of the employees.
