Inspection teams from the General Directorate for the Restoration of Natural Disaster Effects (GDARF) under the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection have begun assessing the damage to buildings following the recent fire in Varnavas.

According to the ministry, more than 60 engineers from GDARF have conducted inspections across eight municipalities in Attica, covering the majority of areas affected by the wildfires.

So far, a total of 130 buildings have been inspected across these eight municipalities. The breakdown includes 112 residential properties, 13 storage facilities, 2 public buildings, and 3 commercial spaces.
The inspections revealed that 78 homes are classified as unfit for use and slated for demolition ("red"), while others are temporarily unsuitable and require repairs ("yellow").

Among these, 34 homes have been designated as "red," and 44 as "yellow."
The inspections are part of a broader effort to assess and address the extensive damage caused by the fires, ensuring that affected residents receive the necessary support and resources.
