Responding to a government initiative to combat rising living costs, supermarkets across Greece are lowering prices on hundreds of essential items.
By the end of October, over 120 product categories will see price reductions between 6% and 15%. This is just the first phase of the plan, with over 600 products expected to be included in the coming weeks.
This wave of price cuts comes as food inflation has been steadily declining in recent months.
The Ministry of Development and Investments hopes this initiative will further reduce costs for consumers.
The Hellenic Supermarket Association (HSA), which represents major supermarket chains in Greece, is working closely with the government on this project. The HSA is committed to ensuring fair competition and providing relief for shoppers.
