The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) has taken measures to ensure the comfort of Greek athletes during the Paris Olympic Games by procuring air conditioners for their rooms in the Olympic Village.
The decision comes as the event organisers opted not to include air conditioning in the accommodations, citing environmental concerns.
Considering summer temperatures in Paris, the HOC deemed air conditioning essential for the athletes' well-being and performance.
The committee said it will cover the cost of these portable, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly units.
Following the Games, the air conditioners will be transported back to Greece and donated to the rowing training center in Schinias. The donation will address a long-standing issue with broken air conditioning units at the facility, ultimately benefiting the athletes who train.
