President Katerina Sakellaropoulou has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump.
She expressed her condolences for the death of a citizen involved in the incident and emphasised that political violence had no place in democratic societies.
President Sakellaropoulou also wished Trump and the injured a swift recovery.
Earlier, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his profound dismay against the assassination attempt. Mr. Mitsotakis emphasised that political violence had no place in democratic societies, underscoring the importance of upholding peace and democratic principles globally.
In his statement, Mitsotakis extended heartfelt wishes for Trump's swift and complete recovery, alongside those who sustained injuries during the incident.
He also conveyed condolences to the family of the individual tragically killed in the attack.
