Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis led a cabinet meeting on Monday to approve a series of significant reforms aimed at modernizing key sectors and improving efficiency across the government.
The meeting focused on several important initiatives, including major education reforms introduced by Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
These reforms include a new partnership with the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation to establish public Onassis Schools, as well as measures to increase school autonomy and encourage educational innovation.
Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias presented a bill to optimize the use of Armed Forces real estate, reflecting a strategic focus on strengthening defense infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Minister Theodoros Skylakakis proposed a plan to modernize the management of water and sewerage services.
To boost public sector efficiency, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis and Interior Minister Theodoros Livanios introduced civil service reforms that will implement a system of performance-based targets and rewards. Minister of State Makis Voridis also called for streamlining legislative processes to reduce bureaucracy.
In addition, Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrisochoidis proposed a measure to facilitate the relocation of Korydallos Prison to a new site.
