In an effort to reverse brain drain and attract skilled professionals back to Greece, the Greek government is holding its first-ever international "Career Day" in Düsseldorf today.
Labor Minister Niki Kerameus has issued an open invitation to Greek expatriates in Germany, urging them to consider returning home to pursue exciting career opportunities.
The event, organized by the Public Employment Service (DYPA) and the Ministry of Labor in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will connect attendees with over 50 leading Greek companies offering more than 1,200 jobs.
"Are you living in Germany and thinking of returning to Greece? Meet us in Düsseldorf," Minister Kerameus announced on social media, highlighting opportunities in sectors ranging from tourism and healthcare to technology and finance.
Major Greek companies like AEGEAN, Cisco, Deloitte, Vodafone, Alpha Bank, and PwC Greece will be present, seeking to recruit talented professionals in fields such as engineering, data analysis, healthcare, marketing, IT, and economics.
The initiative is part of the "Rebrain Greece" program, a broader government strategy to address labor shortages and re-engage skilled professionals who left the country during previous economic crises.
By showcasing attractive career paths in Greece, the government aims to entice expatriates to bring their expertise back home.
The "Career Day" has generated significant interest, with Greek professionals from neighboring countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg also encouraged to attend.
The event underscores Greece's commitment to building a stronger, more skilled economy and reintegrating its diaspora into the workforce.
