Greece faces 15th consecutive day of extreme heat

Monday marked the fifteenth consecutive day of very high temperatures across Greece. The highest temperatures were recorded in Thessaly, central and eastern Central Greece, and the southeastern Peloponnese.

The maximum temperature was 41.9°C in Stylida, Phtiotis, followed by 41.6°C in Thebes and 41.2°C in Psachna, Evia.

According to data from National Observatory of Athens, temperatures exceeded 37°C at 189 of the 513 active weather stations (37%). The average maximum temperature was 35.5°C, higher than the July 20 average of 34.8°C and the July 21 average of 35.2°C.
