The Greek government is considering a law that would prohibit gas stations from selling fuel to motorcyclists who are not wearing helmets.

Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis announced the initiative, which follows a similar move by a gas station owner in Crete that garnered widespread support.

The proposal comes in response to concerns over motorcycle safety in Greece, where accidents are a frequent occurrence.

Mr. Georgiadis acknowledged the impracticality of extending the ban to seatbelt use in cars but emphasized the importance of citizens reporting drivers under the influence to the police.

This initiative reflects a growing awareness of road safety issues and a commitment to reducing motorcycle-related accidents in Greece.
