The Greek Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks on civilians in Gaza, including an airstrike in Rafah that killed 45 people, among them children.
The ministry’s statement demands a comprehensive investigation to determine the details of the incident.
The ministry’s message, posted on social media, emphasizes Greece’s stance against the continued violence:
“Greece condemns the recent attacks against civilians, including children, in Rafah. We call for a thorough investigation which will shed light into the exact circumstances of this attack.”
The statement also reiterated Greece’s position on the broader conflict:
“Greece reiterates its call for an immediate ceasefire, respect of humanitarian and international law by all parties, urgent entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and release of all hostages held by Hamas.”
The call for action follows a devastating event late Sunday when an Israeli airstrike ignited a blaze in a tent camp in Rafah. The fire resulted in the deaths of 45 individuals, sparking international leaders to demand adherence to a World Court order aiming to cease Israel’s military actions.
