The Hellenic Air Force welcomed the final Rafale fighter jet to its fleet today, marking the completion of a major defense acquisition that significantly enhances Greece's air power.
The 24th Rafale arrived at the Tanagra Air Base and joins the 332nd Squadron, known as "Hawk."
Greece initially acquired 18 Rafale jets, followed by an additional order of six, bringing the total to 24. These advanced 4.5-generation fighters are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including powerful self-defense systems and Meteor missiles with a range of over 100 kilometers.
The Meteor missiles provide a significant deterrent capability, effectively creating a "no-access zone" that can neutralize enemy aircraft before they even enter Greek airspace.
The Rafales have already participated in numerous military exercises, demonstrating their advanced capabilities and integration into Greece's defense strategy.
The completion of the Rafale acquisition marks a major milestone for the Hellenic Air Force, bolstering its combat readiness and strengthening Greece's overall defense posture.
The advanced fighter jets enhance the country's ability to protect its airspace and contribute to regional security in the Eastern Mediterranean.
