Greece and South Korea have deepened their cultural relationship with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cultural Cooperation.
The agreement, signed by Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and South Korean Minister of Culture Yu In-Chon, outlines plans for collaboration in various cultural fields.
The MoU focuses on areas such as cultural heritage protection, conservation, and restoration. It also includes initiatives for promoting cultural exchanges, including joint exhibitions, music, theater, dance, and film collaborations.
One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the illegal trafficking of cultural goods.
Both countries expressed their commitment to combating this issue and agreed to work together to prevent the illicit trade in cultural treasures.
South Korea also reaffirmed its support for Greece's efforts to reunite the Parthenon Marbles, a significant cultural artifact currently housed in the British Museum.The agreement marks a new chapter in the cultural relationship between Greece and South Korea, fostering closer ties and promoting mutual understanding.
