The three videos provided by Interstar company about the Tempi train collision are genuine, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said at Monday's press briefing, charging opposition parties for hypocrisy. "Observe the silence of the last few days," he said, which would have been the reverse if the experts' report on the videos' veracity was different.
"This is yet one more expert appraisal that mentions there was no flammable material on the commercial train. I believe that it is not right to have statements, but those who do appear to have other motives when the facts inconvenience them. I believe we are near the wrapping up of the investigative process," he said.
Marinakis stressed that the government never doubted the need for a full investigation of the tragedy, while he criticized political powers for spreading fake news and using the pain of the victims for their own political purposes. "Let us leave justice alone to do its job, at last," he concluded.
