Four businessmen have appeared before a Supreme Court prosecutor as suspects in the ongoing investigation into the 2021 "Predatorgate" wiretapping scandal, which targeted prominent politicians, businessmen, and media figures.

Deputy prosecutor Achilleas Zisis summoned the suspects, who are linked to businesses implicated in the case.

The move follows a recent surprise raid on Greece's National Intelligence Service (EYP) offices and testimonies from over 40 witnesses, including politicians, journalists, and former intelligence officials.

The testimonies are being cross-referenced with evidence gathered from the raid and other sources. The case file is expected to be submitted to Supreme Court Prosecutor Georgia Adilini in the next judicial year.

The scandal came to light in 2022 when journalist Thanasis Koukakis revealed that his phone had been hacked with Predator spyware and monitored by EYP.

It was later discovered that other high-profile figures, including PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, were also targeted.

The government has denied using illegal spyware, but the investigation continues to uncover new details and potential suspects.
