Rethymno police have arrested a foreign national suspected of stealing over 20,000 euros in cash and jewelry from hotel rooms in the area. The arrest followed an investigation by the Rethymno Security Subdivision, which solved four theft cases in the region.
The suspect is accused of stealing a total of 3,080 euros in cash, 17,100 euros worth of jewelry, and a safe from various hotel rooms between August 12 and August 19.
During a search of the suspect's residence, police recovered 2,200 euros in cash, along with clothing items and burglary tools.
The suspect is now facing charges related to these thefts.
