The Greek Civil Protection Agency has issued a high fire risk alert for Saturday as firefighters continue to combat multiple wildfires across the country.

On Friday, crews in Vilia, West Attica, worked to manage hotspots in a burned forest area. No homes were threatened.

In Krania, Pella, efforts were ongoing to control a forest fire that began Thursday night. Another blaze in Kastraki, Arcadia, required the efforts of firefighters, aircraft, and local water trucks.

A fire in northern Rodopi has been partially contained, with firefighters remaining on standby for potential flare-ups.

The high fire risk alert covers several areas in Attica, Peloponnese, and Central Greece. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and avoid activities that could start fires. Firefighting personnel are on high alert and conducting surveillance and patrols.
