Extreme fire danger is forecast for the regions of Attica, Central Greece, Peloponnese and Crete on Sunday. According to Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by General Secretariat for Civil Protection the following alerts are in place:
Extreme Fire Danger - Alert Level 5 for:
- Attica (excluding Kythera island)
- Central Greece (Boeotia, Evia)
- Peloponnese (Argolis, Corinth)
- Crete
High Fire Danger - Alert Level 4 for:
- Attica (Kythera island)
- Peloponnese
- Western Greece (Achaea)
- Central Greece (Fokida, Boeotia, Phthiotis, Evia including Skyros)
- Thessaly (Sporades)
- North Aegean (Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria)
- South Aegean (Cyclades, Karpathos)
- Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (Rodopi, Evros including Samothrace)
General Secretariat for Civil Protection has alerted relevant state agencies, as well as regional and municipal authorities in these areas, to remain on heightened alert and be prepared to respond promptly to any potential fire incidents.
