European Council President Antonio Costa underlines the EU's firm commitment to the reunification of Cyprus through a comprehensive settlement on the basis of a bizonal and bicommunal federation, in accordance with UN resolutions. In a post on X, he underlines:
“Full support for the UN Secretary-General's efforts on the Cyprus settlement talks taking place today and tomorrow in Geneva. We reiterate our firm commitment to the reunification of Cyprus through a comprehensive settlement on the basis of a bizonal and bicommunal federation and in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions. The European Union stands ready to play its role and step up its efforts to support this process.”
