Minister of Education Kyriakos Pierrakakis participated in the informal meeting of the EU Ministers of Education, which took place in Warsaw on 21 and 22 January 2025 on the topic of inclusion in education.
Pierrakakis referred to the Greek state's commitment to an education system that fosters values and offers equal opportunities to all. He also spoke about the digital initiatives planned by the ministry, putting the focus on the student and the teacher.
In his social media posts, he pointed out that on the second day of the meeting, he mentioned three digital initiatives. The enhancement of the MySchool information system, which aims to eliminate printing of paper. The Digital Tutoring Centre, which is emerging as an interesting case study at the European level, emphasises the integration of sign language for all subjects. "The digital tutor is an example of technology that empowers the learner," he commented. Pierrakakis also referred to the strengthening of special education with a new digital system for the 80 centres for interdisciplinary assessment, counselling, and support, so that all assessments for children facing developmental challenges are faster and meet the same criteria.
