The Athens Metro is set to expand with fifteen new stations in the coming years, aiming to facilitate the movement of even more residents of the capital.
With a budget of 1.5 billion euros, the construction of Line 4 of the Athens Metro is underway. It represents the largest public works project in the country and is expected to facilitate more than 350,000 residents and visitors upon completion.
Starting from Katechaki, works have already opened up a kilometer-long tunnel. The journey from Veikou Station in Galatsi has also commenced, with the two joining at around mid-2026 at Evangelismos.
The first section of Line 4, from Alsos Veikou to Goudi, spans 12.8 kilometers and includes a total of fifteen underground stations at Alsos Veikou, Galatsi, Elikonos, Kypseli, Dikastiria, Alexandras, Exarchia, Akadimia, Kolonaki, Evangelismos, Kaisariani, University Campus, Zografou, Ilisia, and Goudi.
