An intense Arctic front named "Coral" continues to bring freezing temperatures, strong winds, and snow to Greece and Southeast Europe.
The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) said Tuesday that the severe weather is expected to last through Monday, affecting Greece, Southeast Europe, and the eastern Mediterranean.
The storm brings frigid temperatures and gale-force northerly winds in parts of the Aegean Sea. Light snow is falling in eastern mainland areas, the Aegean islands, and Crete, but accumulations are expected to be minimal.
Authorities are urging residents and travelers to exercise caution, particularly in areas experiencing strong winds and icy conditions.
The cold snap has caused disruptions across the region, including transportation delays and increased energy demands. EMY officials are advising the public to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions.
