A 13-year-old schoolgirl from Thessaloniki was discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon after she took part in an online challenge on TikTok that involved breath-holding and fainted as a result.
The 13-year-old girl, who was hospitalised at the Paediatric clinic of the Ippokratio hospital, is in good health, as the doctors reported after the checkups she underwent. She was reportedly examined by paediatricians and child psychologists who did not consider it necessary for her to stay in the hospital.
The high school principal has already sent an email to parents asking them to inform their children of the dangers of the TikTok challenges. In response to the incident, Health Minister Adonis Georgiades noted in a post on "X" that "we must do everything we can to stop our children from this madness!"
